Most visitors stay on Hong Kong Island or Kowloon. Luxury accommodation is located around the harbour-front with room rates becoming cheaper further away from the harbour and water views. Kowloon is generally less expensive than Hong Kong Island. Hong Kong has excellent transport systems so it is not essential for visitors to be centrally located. The tourist low season is December and January, high season is June to August.
